"How happy is the blameless Vestal's lot!"
Title is a portion of the now famous poem by Alexander Pope entitled "Eloisa to Abelard." Here's the full quote:
"How happy is the blameless Vestal's lot! / The world forgetting, by the world forgot / Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! / Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd"
The piece is quoted by Kirsten Dunst's character Mary in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I recommend this film with ever fiber of my existence. It's not very accessible, but it's core romantic theme is still resonating with me today, nearly 48 hours after screening it. I want to be able to write like Charlie Kaufman. After seeing Adaptation and Eternal Sunshine, how could one not? His brilliance goes beyond mere words. Okay, I'll stop kissing his ass before I go too far. But seriously, check the film out. You won't regret it. Plus, you get Kirsten Dunst in her undies and Kate Winslet at her sexiest (I wanna date a girl with blue hair and an orange jacket). Sadly, the picture got me in such a lovey-dovey romantic mood, but I've nobody to share that with. I don't even have the stock of female friends handy like I did back in Wilmington. With St. Valentine's Day at hand, this is a slight bummer, albeit a situation I chose. I guess creating a real homepage for tomtostanoski.com will be this year's labor of love. Speaking of labors, I shed another two pounds last week, taking me up to 15.2 pounds lost since 1/7/05. Fifteen pounds in five weeks. This isn't nearly as painful as I thought it'd be. Hopefully, things will start going even smoother once the weather starts getting warm again and I can expand my walk to a full hour. Maybe even jog a few days a week. Exercise sucks when you can't breathe properly. It's getting better though. Maybe I'll pick up some new shoes next week, after I get my car looked at. Word goes out to Shon, who's made the leap from Dub to NY recently. You can check him out at his site. Leave him some good words! Wanna see something cool? I can print directly on CDs and DVDs now. Peep this screenshot of a wrestling compilation here. Neat, huh? Another shout is in order. For shits and giggles, say hello to Jerilyn at her MySpace page, once that link starts working again [Edit: link repaired. Fucking MySpace]. She's cool people. Trust me. On that note, you folks have a very good weekend. I'll be gearing up for Ring of Honor next weekend, getting to work on time (which I was successful at today, thank you very much), and working on that website. I promise a real, working, good looking homepage by Monday night. Hasta Lumbago
