Pseudo-weekly Update

Hey all! Just figured I'd chime in so you didn't think I had had given up. Before I continue, one wrestling note. A few weeks ago, Chris Candido sadly passed away at an age way too early. Chris battled personal demons for a time in his life, but that was a period he actually overcame. A clean Candido was on his way back up in the business when complications from surgery caused his untimely death. Chris, you will be sorely missed, and I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner.

In brighter news, I've lost some more weight. I'm now down 41 pounds total after dropping another 1.6 pounds this past week. That's 40% of all the weight I want to lose. If it stays this easy, maybe I'll try to drop twenty more.

I think I lost a good portion of this week's weight walking around the city yesterday afternoon. I saw Revenge of the Sith for the second time of the day. I went to the city for my second screening because of the wonder that is DLP. It's like watching a DVD on a screen the size of your house with no noticeable distortion. Trust me kids, it looked beautiful. Dug the film too. Much better than the last two episodes and marginally better than Return of the Jedi (which was the first cinematic experience I ever had).

I got to go to a midnight screening thanks to one of my former co-workers. Last night was my last night supporting AstraZeneca (ha! I said it), the people who make GERD remedy Nexium and people-melting wonder drug Crestor (it's supposed to be for cholesterol reduction). Starting Monday, i deal with a completely new job in the tech support field. I can't wait to start up.

I've also get a new apartment to match the new job. Splitting a two bedroom with another former co-worker up in Wappingers Falls. The commute to White Plains is about an hour and will likely be a bitch, but the chance to return to a "histrionic-free" zone was one that I could not pass up. You're all invited to visit, providing you call first ;)

Though you don't see it (the magic of publishing), I just paused for a moment to calculate expenses vs. income starting next month. Since I'll be clearing a grand every two weeks, one check each month will be gravy. That's right, gravy. A thou every month I can tuck away. To pay back UNCW. To go to wrestling shows. To get a better damn stereo in my car. To get a better damn car (might be the priority for a while). To upgrade the PC. To build my media PC. To take on the world.

Not sure where that last item came from.

Well, I'm not going to be rich, but I'll be pretty comfortable for a cat who didn't graduate college. I guess I have enough skills under my belt and experience in the field. And maybe, just maybe, I'm a pretty likable guy. If only the business world would make the females of this planet aware of that fact.

On that note, I'm done. I should be back next week, with the last post from my mother's basement. I think I lose geek points for doing so, but moving out of the basement has been a priority.

Until then.
